Rommel wins skeleton race in Austria (AP) PDF Print E-mail
Frank Rommel of Germany won his second straight skeleton World Cup race Saturday and was followed by Alexander Tretiakov of Russia and Martins Dukurs of Latvia. Rommel, whose maiden victory came last week in Altenberg, Germany, won by 0.25 seconds. He trailed Tretiakov by 0.05 seconds after the opening heat but was fastest in the second to finish in 1 minute, 46.01 seconds.

Equestrian not dwelling on Olympic medal (AP) PDF Print E-mail
Swiss showjumper Steve Guerdat isn't dwelling on the Olympic medal he may soon be awarded as part of a doping ruling. Guerdat, who defends his World Cup lead Sunday in the Grand Prix event at the Geneva International Horse Show, finished fourth in team jumping at the Beijing Games. His teammates were Christina Liebherr, Pius Schwizer and Niklaus Schurtenberger.

Germans win 2-man bobled; US is 3rd (AP) PDF Print E-mail
Thomas Florschuetz of Germany guided his team a two-man bobsled victory Saturday for his first World Cup victory. Steven Holcomb and Justin Olsen of the United States finished third. Florschuetz and partner Marc Kuehne led after the opening heat and finished the two runs in 1 minute, 44.62 seconds at the Olympia track.

Zoeggeler of Italy wins luge World Cup race (AP) PDF Print E-mail
Two-time Olympic champion Armin Zoeggeler of Italy won a World Cup luge race Saturday for his first victory of the season. Zoeggeler won in 1 minute, 46.490 seconds and leads the overall standings after three of nine races. Two-time world champion David Moeller of Germany was .022 seconds back and Johannes Ludwig of Germany was third.

World champion Mao Asada's skill with the triple axel earned her a victory over longtime rival Kim Yu-na at the Grand Prix of Figure Skating finals on Saturday. Jeremy Abbott of the United States won after hitting every jump in the free skate.
